Domestic Men's Division
Domestic men's players faced various challenges in the first stage. In Group H, Zheng Yubao encountered difficulties and lost 6-9 to Li Ke, forcing him into the loser's bracket. Similarly, seed player Yu Haitao was defeated by Mei Le with a score of 6-9. Another seed player, Dai Yong, was blocked by Lei Weimin and lost 7-9.
However, other seeds managed to advance: Kong Dekang defeated Cai Jianzhong with ease; Lei Jingwei beat Gong Yi; Shi Hanqing swept Xu Tinghao; Liang Shiyu forced Chen Shuangyou out of the competition; Chu Bingjie won against Kim Eun-seo after leading 6-6 and then winning three consecutive frames.

Domestic Women's Division
In the domestic women's group, two seeded players - Chen Siming and Wang Xiaotong - defeated their opponents from lower-ranked teams: Ou Yang Huixue and Wang Sitong respectively. However, Bai Ge fell to Xiong Shiyang in a thrilling match that went down to the wire.
International Men's Division
Yang Shaoguo continued his slow start but then won five consecutive frames after trailing 3-4 against Russian player Ilya Neklyudov en route to a 9-5 victory over Neklyudov. He joined fellow international competitors Paragualyn (Liu Zhengjie), Tegmurei Enkhbayar (Iron Khan), Fei Zhewei (Feng Zhewei), Holz (Hou Luozhu), Van Huaiyuan (Fan Huaiyuan) in advancing to the next round.
Kakovsky suffered defeat at the hands of Egyptian player Elmorah instead of advancing further.
International Women’s Division
Thai star Varatnuch Sukritaneswaranen shut out Chinese opponent He Xinru before facing off against Vietnamese competitor Nguyen Bich Chau who comfortably dispatched Russian opponent Gorokova. The fifth spot for advancement came through Zheng Yuru who narrowly edged past Belarusian opponent Lyubov Kazyuchitskaya with a score of 7-5.
